Patch V1.5.7


Hello everyone, It's been a while! Three years since the last patch somehow.

In all that time I have been very slowly chipping away at, what was once, a small Quality of Life update.

Now three years later it has become quite a substantial Quality of Life update.

So now, finally, here are the new Features and Bug Fixes:


Features:

Translation:

That's right, Masks of Power: Legacy now features multiple languages!

Not all are complete, and may still contain some English elements, but some of a language is better than none right?

One thing to note - Make sure to change the language while on the main menu, as some assets require reloading to be updated to their correctly localized versions. So either restart the game, or just set the option while on the main menu.

The new languages featured are:

German
French
Hungarian
Polish
Portuguese (Brazilian)
Russian
Italian


Controller Support:

Proper controller support is now... supported.

Every piece of UI in the game has been touched up, enabling them to be able to be navigated by controllers.

It is still however recommended to keep a Keyboard and Mouse on hand, in the case of any bugs.

There is still one element of the game that does not work with gamepad, the Ga-Koro Gate puzzle. Unfortunately it would require reworking the entire input system for the puzzle, and I can't justify spending that much time on that one thing. 

You can still enter and exit the puzzle with the gamepad however, so it shouldn't result in a soft lock.

Controller Icon Types:

A smaller sub feature here that I wanted to mention - Controller Icons displayed in the game can be swapped between, Dualshock (Playstation) style, and Xbox style icons.


New Save Structure:

The save system, and save file structure, has been reworked to (hopefully) be more stable.

Allowing for stats to be tracked more accurately, and progression to be lost less often.

No need to worry if you want to use your previous saves, the game has a built in save converter! (I recommend backing up your saves first before converting them)

In addition, the game will now ask you to overwrite a save if saved with the same name. Reducing disk space usage, and confusion with multiple saves under the same name. 


Elemental Damage Multipliers:

To add some interest to the combat system, elemental multipliers have been added.

Loading Tips:

There are now a couple tips that can be viewed when loading the game!

Here's the full list of them:

Elemental Attacks can be triggered in water.
Meditation Stones Heal all Toa on interaction, there's no need to actually meditate for this effect.
Press the interaction key while in meditation stone menu to quickly exit it.
The Codex contains not only lore, but also Gameplay hints.
Quest objectives can be seen in the world when using the Akaku.
You can zoom while wearing the Akaku by pressing the assigned key (Default is Left ALT).
Remember to manually save OFTEN!
The game Autosaves when interacting with a meditation stone.
Tap your sprint button to dash underwater
Cosmetics found in the world are applied automatically, you can disable them from cosmetic benches.
It's a good idea to Save in multiple slots.


Settings:

- Added Attack for Combat Mode setting

- Added Optional Compass setting for the Directionally challenged

- Added Optional Noclip Keybind, for players getting stuck

- Added Constant Music Option


Quests:

- Added Door to Ta-Kini for continuity

- Added "Attack Tree" note to Matau quest objective

- Added a blocker for ending of Black Mask quest to prevent players from bypassing the quest

- Added Research Notes next to Krana

- Changed Podu's dialogue from 'Hidden Temple' to 'Old Temple'

- Lake quest dialogue edits

- Added the option to tell the truth for the Lake quest

- Added Lake quest Final Leave/Stay Variant

- Added Optional quest for Onua to dig in the mine, gather lightstone ore to trade in for Widgets & Unpowered mask reward OR a Powered mask

- Add a few Easter eggish things

- Added Dialogue to Nuparu to learn specifics about Mask Powering stations


Tutorial:

- Changed Meditation Stone Tutorial Text (You only need to tap E on stone to regain health for ALL Toa)

- Added Physical Blocker, requiring players to disable their mask after reading about Proto pools


Bug Fixes:

World:

- Fixed Interaction zone Around Kini
- Fixed Turaga having collision before Kini cutscene
- Fixed Matau falling in Kini Dialogue after loading save
- Fixed Tutorial Check on new game
- Fixed Final Cutscene music not being volume controlled
- Fixed being able to exit the tutorial when using the Kakama to reach door before it closes
- Fixed Rahi Pathing issue in Mangaia (Hopefully)
- Fixed Spawning as Onua making caravan not run
- Fixed locational music not stopping when you die
- Fixed Cave of doom rocks not appearing
- Fixed it being hard to pick up Note next to Prophet door
- Fixed Onu Cave Mesh (Due to clip through world)
- Removed Water volume in Nokama cave (To make it easier to leave)
- Added more dead matoran in corrupted tutorial

- Lowered Ko-kini makoki stone to be easier to pickup
- Put a Miru near Whenua
- Fixed Wahgna physics pot colliding with sticks
- Added platforming to get up the cliff in the small Ko-Kapura area
- Fixed Kite at North point's Draw Dist

Combat:

- Reduced the amount Amana Volo spheres heal
- Fixed the shadow Toa targeting each other
- Fixed the shadow Toa's health bars lingering too long after death
- Made sure elemental attacks were being affected by mask powers
- Fixed Lake Boss to not 100% track the player
- Reworked Stamina to fix Stamina not Regenerating
- Set Muaka and Kanera attack distance slightly further away

UI:

- Item gathered ui extended to edge
- Added Plus / Minus UI element for EXP
- Fixed objective markers disappearing sometimes (Hopefully)
- Fixed Mask Pickup allowing you to give Kopaka a mask he already has
- Changed 'Exit' on Meditation Stones to 'Cancel'
- Mask & Text will now change when selecting on mask wheel
- Gold mask Codex page now describes each stat buff for each mask
- Added hover text over the tutorial check mentioning: "Tutorial has story relevance, you must play it once"
- Updated credits
- Put map control scheme on top Z-Layer of map

Quests:

- Fixed First Quest disappearing when reloading the starting save
- Fixed being able to clear Gold Mask quests by interacting with the Suva and not seeing the cutscene
- Replaced "Off screen switch" quest method, with a "Fade and Switch" method
- Fixed Fish quest boss fight black screen/Fov issue
- Fix Matoran going back to default pose when walking towards player
- Fixed soft lock: Going to the Ta-Kini before you speak to Vakama 
(Switched final check to check for items/Masks only) (& Make sure Kini is only unlocked through dialogue)
- Made Meeting Toa reflect your progress in gold masks
- Made ULT Pads Glow in X-Ray
- Made ULT Toa have Golden Masks
- Added Explosion Sphere mesh that grows the more pads are active (Explodes in cutscene)

Misc:

- Fixed Hau getting disabled from stamina making it require an extra tap to reactivate
- Made main menu respect volume settings
- Tried to fix Gold masks getting cleared when switching Toa
- Lowered Drifts Volume
- Added Bottom plane to Meditation Stone mesh (For X-Ray)
- Fixed Bamboo so it can no longer be removed Via lowering Foliage settings
- Added Gold weapons (Gold Toa Cosmetic)
- Removed all Print Strings (No Spam in Cheat Build)
- Increased cable travel speed
- Fixed Onua's Landing Missing Codex Page
- Lightened Onua's secondary color slightly
- Made sure Matoran don't block camera
- Added Auto save every time you gain EXP
- Made a script to convert old saves to the new format
- Fixed Pohatu keeping his velocity when completing the race
- Fixed Protodermis pools not working when disabling your mask inside them
- Fixed changing FOV on Main menu changing menu cam FOV
- Fixed NPCs not ticking when loading in near them
- Fixed Le-Koro Band music not playing correctly

I also wanted to ask about the black mask quest, earlier (1.5.5) I calmly found it in the northwest on small islands. And now, even with the purchased cards, there's a closed door. How do I open it?

P.S. I started a new game version 1.5.7 and noticed that the boats stopped working

Hi) I recently played the 1.5.5 version of the game, and I really enjoyed it. Can you tell me, I found a mask of light (kanohi avokhii) inside a stone. Is it just an Easter egg, or is there a way to obtain it?

Didn't expect Legacy to get another update, let alone one with so many improvements. Great work!
